About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated leader to join our Security & Resilience function as an OSAR Senior Security Manager.

This is a critical senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering world-class operational security and resilience arrangements across a complex, highly regulated environment. You will play a key role in ensuring our rail, marine, and solutions operations remain secure, resilient, and fully compliant with regulatory and customer expectations.

Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you will work closely with senior leaders, regulators, and international stakeholders, while also driving performance, developing people, and leading teams to excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide senior leadership and direction across operational security and resilience
  • Deputise for the Head of Security & Resilience, leading key operational delivery when required
  • Lead the development and delivery of security contingency plans, crisis response, and operational exercising (including Silver Command and TCC arrangements)
  • Deliver expert security consultancy and advice across the organisation
  • Act as a key interface with regulators, government departments, and security agencies
  • Build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams, driving engagement, capability, and accountability
  • Support business growth through stakeholder engagement and customer confidence
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

We need a highly driven and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and has the ability to lead, inspire, and deliver through others.

Essential Experience

  • Leadership experience in security within nuclear, transport, or critical national infrastructure
  • Proven ability to drive teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver results
  • Experience managing complex regulatory relationships
  • Experience working with armed police, intelligence agencies, or similar stakeholders

Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong understanding of nuclear security regulations and high-risk operational environments
  • Knowledge of resilience, business continuity, and emergency preparedness
  • Familiarity with rail, maritime, or nuclear sectors
  • Insight into international security standards and frameworks

Skills & Attributes

  • A natural leader who can motivate, energise, and develop teams
  • Excellent communication with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Confident decision-maker who can operate under pressure
  • Strong relationship builder with a collaborative mindset
  • Courage to challenge, innovate, and drive change

Qualifications

  • Security-related qualification (minimum Level 5 or equivalent)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Security Institute, CMI, IRM)
