As the CFO of NTS, you will support the CEO in leading the business from a financial and strategic perspective. You will be a visible business leader, both internally and externally, embodying the NTS culture principles of Freedom, Helpfulness, and Drive. This role offers the chance to drive financial objectives, including margin and revenue growth, enhanced data, revenue and cost synergies, and robust cash management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Deliver a five-year financial business plan for NTS, underpinning the business case through revenue and profit growth.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver the monthly performance pack, including management accounts, P&L and Cash forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure that appropriate Financial and Fraud Controls are in place and develop full Accounting Policies for NTS in line with IFF.
  • ERP and Audit Strategy: Review and expand the phasing of an ERP strategy for NTS and implement an audit strategy in line with IFF.
  • Corporate Governance: Operate as an NTS Board member and ensure a robust corporate governance and delegations framework is in place.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Increase equality, diversity, and inclusion in individual teams and wider NTS by creating a culture of respect.

  • Team Size: 26
  • Organisation Size: c.750 people, regionally based

Internal and External Relationships:

  • Collaborate with the CEO, Executive and other forums, ARAC, PNTL Board, and various industry forums.
  • Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across the private and public sectors.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Accountant: Significant operational and commercial experience, preferably in Engineering/Projects or other complex environments.
  • Leadership: Strong leader with the ability to communicate the strategic and financial direction for the business both internally and externally.
  • Change Management: Significant experience in delivering change in a complex, large, corporate environment.
  • Commercial Drive: Ability to constructively challenge and develop business partnering solutions to issues and opportunities.
  • Team Development: Empowering and engaging leadership style, with a focus on developing teams and people.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in delivering financial business plans with strong profit and cash growth.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to champion numbers and tell the story to non-financial leaders across the division.
  • Independence: Ability to maintain independence and command the confidence of diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge and experience in designing and developing management accounts, reporting, ERP systems, and consolidation tools.
  • Commitment to Diversity: Strong understanding of and commitment to enabling diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Nuclear, Rail, or Shipping industry/sector is desirable but not essential.
