Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee PNTL Ship Management: Manage the PNTL Ship Management contract and ensure the fleet operates safely and reliably.
  • Set Strategic Direction: Guide the PNTL ship manager in developing and implementing robust strategies for fleet management.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage operational risks, ensuring comprehensive risk action plans.
  • Performance Assurance: Monitor and assure the performance of the PNTL ship manager.
  • Budget Management: Oversee a budget of approximately £20m, ensuring financial controls are in place.
  • Marine Transport Delivery: Ensure the delivery of compliant, safe, and secure marine transports.
  • Chartering Oversight: Implement and oversee chartering arrangements, including operational planning, sales, agency, bunkering, and supplier contracts.
  • Security Assurance: Ensure vessel physical protection security arrangements are in place as per approved security plans.
  • Project Sponsorship: Sponsor key NTS projects and drive innovation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the NTS Ship Management Team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Maritime Expertise: Degree in a maritime field or equivalent professional qualification with senior sea-going experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven track record in improving performance and leading cultural change.
  • HSEQ Knowledge: Strong knowledge of health, safety, security, environment, and quality management.
  • Strategic Vision: Experience in leading the development and implementation of strategy in a highly regulated, safety, and security-critical business.
  • Financial Acumen: Expertise in managing complex budgets and financial controls.
  • Commercial Skills: Strong commercial, contract management, and procurement strategy skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop a team of professionals.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of customers, regulators, and stakeholders.
