Engineering Training Manager

What is the key purpose of this role?

Job Purpose

Responsible for all engineering and facilities training activity.  The aspects of training will include inductions, core engineering/facilities training and competencies, compliance; mandatory and re-certification.

Key Expectations of the Job Holder

  • Work with the engineering team to identify and manage skills gaps/capability requirements. Develop and coordinate training plans that ensure training needs are met, including mandatory, compliance and re-certification.
  • Review training requests for Engineering and Facilities
  • Responsible for co-ordinating and managing the development of apprentices/graduates. Working with line managers to create development plans that ensure apprentices are developed, coached, and mentored appropriately in line with approved development pathways to maximise learning and create a positive learning experience.
  • Maintain Skills and Competency Matrix to support the development of engineering teams and aide Succession planning and resilience.
  • Act as appointed training coordinator for Sellafield Production team and engage with SO to provide training and competence information and audit support.
  • Support NECM in Maintaining compliance of the engineering CMS and associated documentation.
  • Work with third party suppliers and stakeholders to develop and maintain an accessible “learning library” and relevant courses to develop, maintain and enhance knowledge within engineering.
  • Manage and deliver training and re-certification for personal track safety (PTS) /designated person (DP) and controller of site safety (COSS) requirements for relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct any other duties as required by the needs of the business and relevant to the Engineering Training Manager role.
